The sculpture and a replica of the Holy Shroud will be exhibited at the ISEG Campus Mérida.

An impressive hyper-realistic sculpture of Christ can be admired in Mérida and Dzidzantún, as part of an exhibition titled “ Son of Man ”, by the Higher Institute of Guadalupan Studies ( ISEG ) Mérida Campus

The hyperrealistic sculpture was made by the Yucatecan artist Juan Antonio Estrada Alamilla and is inspired by the figure on the Shroud of Turin.

The sculpture measures 1.79 meters long weighs 75 kg, and is made with silicone, polyurethane, acrylic nails, human hair, and oil paints with neutral skin-colored pigments.

To achieve this image, several years of research were required and the most serious scientific investigations were taken into account.

The inauguration of this exhibition, which also includes a replica of the Holy Shroud, is scheduled for this Saturday, March 16, and Sunday, March 17 in the parish of Dzidzantún.

Subsequently, the “Son of Man” exhibition will arrive in Mérida on March 31 and can be visited from April 1, requesting an appointment through Facebook: ISEG Campus Mérida.

The ISEG Campus Mérida is located at Mérida 2000 Avenue number 250 in the Yucalpetén neighborhood of the Yucatecan capital.

This exhibition is for those who wish to immerse themselves in the history and spirituality behind the Shroud and represents a unique opportunity to enjoy religious art.
