From August 30 to September 1, the second edition of the Cheese, Honey, and Wine Festival will be held, a family event in which, in addition to good food and good drinks, there will be music and, above all, a great atmosphere.

Alberto Lavalle, general director of Yucatán Foddie and the event organizer, said that last year, nearly four thousand people attended the event, and there were incomes of more than half a million pesos, so he seeks to exceed those numbers.

He added that it is a family event focused on local and some national cheese producers.

“We are focusing a lot on a family event. There are cultural and musical activities, but you can also find very local artisanal drinks, such as mimosas with sour orange, chaya, nance liqueurs, plates of cold cuts produced in Yucatán, as well as cheeses made of buffalo milk that there are only two producers in the country.”

He stressed that it is an event that does not require a lot of money to enjoy since the glasses of wine will be 50 pesos, and some food tests will have similar prices. The personal expense could be from 100 pesos.

The festival will be held at the Rotary Club of Mérida on Itzimná Street. The times are Friday from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., Saturday from 4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., and Monday from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.:00 at night.
