Governor Mauricio Vila Dosal will present at the end of February a book about his memories titled “A History of Change and Transformation”, in which he talks about how he has worked as a team with the Yucatecan society and his experiences during this administration.
Within the framework of the national strategy Fandango Por la Lectura and before the wife of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, Beatriz Gutiérrez Müller (who inexplicably refuses to be called “First Lady”), Vila Dosal announced that in this book he captures how the transformation of Yucatán has been built and what has been achieved in terms of investment are generated and a state in which important levels of security are maintained.
“This is not something that I have done alone and there are many people involved who are part of the project, and have contributed to this story of change and transformation, so we will announce it very soon at the end of February,” shared the Governor before students of the “Raquel Dzib Cicero” high school.
In this regard, Gutiérrez Müller congratulated Vila Dosal for testifying to the work being carried out in Yucatán during his administration, which, he noted, is an example of inspiration for young Yucatecans.
“This is very important, young people, because you can also become mayors or Governors and how nice it would be if, just like Governor Mauricio Vila at the end of his mandate, you can testify to what you did, because the word will be printed . There are words that are carried away by the wind, but putting them in writing is a way of committing to what we say, congratulations, Governor,” said Beatriz Gutiérrez Müller, before the Ambassador of Spain in Mexico, Juan Duarte.
Accompanied by the mayor of Umán, Gaspar Ventura Cisneros Polanco, and the head of the Secretariat of Culture and the Arts of Yucatán, Loreto Villanueva Trujillo, Vila Dosal shared that he is currently reading the book “My History”, which is about the prime minister of Dubai while recommending that students write a card to their parents at least every year recognizing the effort and sacrifices they make to help them succeed.
“My dad passed away when I was 20 years old, but I have saved the letters that he wrote to me and something I am doing is that every birthday I write a letter to my children so when I’m gone, they will have my writings to get the strength to move forward,” shared the Governor.
In the presence of the Undersecretary of Higher Education of the Government of Mexico, Luciano Concheiro Bórquez, Vila Dosal recognized this strategy as a great opportunity to awaken in children and young people the love of reading and continue promoting it in every corner. “The important thing is that we always dedicate at least 10 minutes a day to reading and nourishing our minds,” concluded Vila Dosal.
During his participation in this strategy that was carried out in the town of Hunxectamán in the municipality of Umán, the Governor participated by reading the poem “When I was a child” by Isaac Carrillo Can, an event in which Spain was the guest country.
The event was attended by the Undersecretary for Latin America and the Caribbean, Laura Elena Carrillo Cubillas; the executive director of the Mexican Agency for International Development Cooperation (AMEXCID), Gloria Sandoval Salas; the head of the Religious Affairs Unit, Prevention and Reconstruction of the Social Fabric of the Ministry of the Interior, Héctor Miranda Anzá; the general director of Religious Affairs of the Ministry of the Interior, Jorge Basaldúa Silva; the Yucatecan writer, María Elisa Chavarrea Chim and the Mexican television host and actress, Claudia Lizaldi.
