The head of the agency, Jorge Eduardo Mendoza Mézquita, and the medical sub-delegate of the Institute of Security and Social Services of State Workers (Issste), José Iván Aguilar Vivas, Aguilar Paredes said that epidemiological week number 7 does not present any case of dengue, zika and chikungunya in Yucatan, but despite this situation, the state authorities cannot “lower their guard”.

“The culture of prevention demonstrated by citizens must continue and must be encouraged,” he added.

The deputy director of Public Health of the same agency, Mirza Tec Kumul, explained that the incidence of dengue cases has been reinforced by the vector personnel strategy that monitors the behavior of Aedes aegypti, because by being found, it is controlled and eliminated by means of ovitraps.
