As we reported, perhaps the most notorious case occurred at the end of August 2023, when a girl died after being trapped in an elevator at the IMSS in Playa del Carmen, which had been reported for failures on previous occasions.
The little girl was originally from Yucatán and was admitted to the General Hospital of Zone 18 of the IMSS in Playa del Carmen due to dengue fever, from which she was progressing favorably.
According to Meganews, the video of the collapse of part of a roof at the IMSS clinic in Cancun is causing outrage and went viral, although fortunately no people were injured.
Staff captured the moment in which the ceiling of the Emergency Area of the General Hospital of Zone Number 17 collapsed due to a water leak that had not been attended to.
In the images you can see the moment in which a large amount of accumulated water causes the emergency roof of the hospital, known as the specialty hospital in Cancun, to fall. Until the time of this information, the authorities of the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) had not published any statement about the situation.
