Danone, which sells the Danonino and Bonafont brands in Mexico, announced an investment of 100 million euros in the country.

Emilio Aguilar, vice president of public affairs for the company, said in a press conference that the capital investment remains in line with or invested in previous years and will be used to maintain its production lines in the country and in innovation. “To grow our legacy we are going to continue innovating, continue growing, and continue investing in our business,” he said at the media meeting.

The investment was announced within the framework of the company’s 50 years in Mexico.

This year they entered the plant milk market with Bye Bye Muu, in addition to the presentation of a bottle made with recycled material and without labels for Bonafont, their bottled water brand. The company did not specify what other products could arrive in the country this year.

The manager said that during 2023 they recorded sustained growth, without revealing the percentage increase in sales. But the company has had a positive impact from returning to offices and schools.

To stay in line with consumer trends after the pandemic, the company – which had been committed to family-sized presentations – returned to the on-the-go formats of its products, the demand for which has increased after the return to schools and work centers.

The company expects to maintain sustained growth this year, although it will be a challenging year due to the elections.

“What we have learned in general in industries is that, with elections or without elections, we work and we evolve. The challenge will always be to overcome the electoral processes because it is part of the current trend in the world, but companies do what we know: produce, generate employment, put the product on the shelf and ensure that people have the product in their home,” he said.
