The death would be allegedly the result of a fight inside the facility.

On Thursday, December 7th, a police mobilization was reported at a Rehabilitation Center in downtown Mérida, where according to unofficial reports Jorge “N”, 35 years old, was found dead.

On Thursday, around 11 pm, residents of the area started hearing screams coming from the “Gladiadores” Anexo Guerreros de la Luz, supposedly a Rehabilitation Center for people with addictions, located on 58th Street between 83 and 85.

They reported the incident to the authorities and several patrol cars arrived at the site after the report of a strong fight. Police officers detained several young inmates of the “center”, who were reportedly taken to the public jail.

Subsequently, a van from the Forensic Medical Service (Semefo) showed up and removed a body presumably of someone who died during the fight, a situation that the authorities have not yet clarified.

It was said that Jorge “N” lost his life at the scene due to the blows and injuries he received, and the crime scene was left in the hands of the State Investigative Police and the State Attorney General’s Office.

It should be noted that in just two weeks, two deaths have been recorded in strange circumstances inside these places called “Anexos”, one in Tizimín and one more in Cholul, Mérida, Yucatán.
