Dog attacks toddler in Mérida

A year and a half old girl ended up with serious injuries to her face, after a dog attack in Ciudad Caucel, in western Mérida.

The incident was a shock to the family, after the house pet, an Australian Shepherd dog, was playing with the girl, in a property located on the corner of 69th and 110th Streets Centro. Suddenly, out of nowhere, the dog attacked the little girl in the face.

The screams of the minor alerted the parents who witnessed how the dog bit the girl twice on the face, on her right cheek, and on the forehead.

Paramedics arrived at the scene, provided first aid to the minor, and then transferred her to the “Agustín O’Horán” General Hospital to be treated for the wounds on her face. She was reported injured but stable.
