Mérida, Yucatán, August 5, 2023.- Before thousands of families, representatives of civil society, economic and cultural sectors, as well as officials from the three branches of government, Mayor Renán Barrera Concha presented his Second Report of Actions where he highlighted that, in the last year of his government, Mérida has established itself as a city that has grown evenly and with social justice.
“I am convinced that the secret of Mérida’s success as a city is that here we learned to grow fairly. Here economic development and social development go hand in hand. Here we use the taxes from large developments to bring infrastructure to all corners of the city, ”he stressed.
In an event held at the facilities of the Yucatán Siglo XXI Convention Center, attended by the Governor of the State, Mauricio Vila Dosal; Marko Cortés Mendoza, national president of the PAN; his wife Diana Castillo Laviada president of the Municipal DIF and his children Renán and Daniela, the Municipal President indicated that, in order to grow with justice, the problems of families have been addressed in a focused manner with social acupuncture.
“Today I can proudly say that we have a care and social protection network that covers the needs of the most backward families in our city,” he said.
Prior to his event at the Siglo XXI Convention Center, the Municipal President delivered a solemn meeting of the town council, held at the “Olimpo” Cultural Center, from the document that contains his report and progress of the Municipal Development Plan of the administration 2021-2024.
At the event, which was attended by directors and directors, as well as collaborators of the Mérida City Council, Renán Barrera pointed out that the Yucatecan capital has a company with firm values, participatory with a vocation for service, to which he has had the privilege of serving as Mayor in three administrations, in which he has worked to transform the state capital so that it is a city as dignified and just as its people, the people of Merida.
