Due to death threats against him, the candidate for mayor of Cenotillo for the PAN, Ángel Cardoz Fernández, filed the corresponding complaint against two individuals identified as members of the Morena political party; one of them allegedly carried a gun.

The complaint was filed on Friday, May 17 at the Public Ministry in Izamal. There, the PAN candidate reported that the events occurred two days ago, when two people belonging to the Morena party, whose names are stated in the complaint, entered an establishment in the center of Cenotillo to demand that Cardoz Fernández be taken to that place to hit him; The most serious thing is that one of them was carrying a gun.

“One of these members of Morena is originally from Cenotillo, but he travels to Cancun frequently,” said the threatened candidate.

The Public Ministry issued a protection order in favor of Cardoz Fernández and his family.

Given this, the PAN State Committee called on political forces not to dirty the current electoral process with intimidation and attacks.

“We condemn any type of violence that is generated and we trust in the judicial authorities to initiate investigations and punish those responsible for the threats against our candidate in Cenotillo,” said the PAN Yucatán in a statement.
