Mexico has opened a new consular office in Mumbai, India

The government of Mexico has opened a new Mexican consular post in Mumbai to accommodate the increasing volume of visa applications from Indian nationals seeking to travel to Mexico.

It will also provide services for Mexican nationals in India, among other services.

It is likely that the new consular post will open for visa appointments in the next few days.

With the opening of this second consular post in India (the first one was in New Delhi), the Mexican government seeks to reduce backlogs and improve client service, as well as strengthen economic relations between the two countries.

Since mid-2022, foreign nationals have been facing significant delays in obtaining visa appointments at the consular post in New Delhi.

Mexico’s Foreign Relations Secretary Marcelo Ebrard was in charge of cutting the ribbon, for the brand new Mexico’s consular post in Mumbai, India.
