

Yucatan, ready to host the 86th Banking Convention of the Association of Banks of Mexico. It is the most important meeting of financial institutions in the country, and will be held on March 16 and 17 in the Yucatan capital.
Merida, Yucatan, March 14, 2023.- Yucatan continues with its presence at national and international level for the realization of important events and its transformation attracts new sectors, as it will receive the 86th Banking Convention of the Association of Banks of Mexico (ABM), a meeting that puts the eye all financial institutions in our state in what could be a strong boost to jobs and investments.
After almost 20 years, this activity leaves its traditional venue in Acapulco, Guerrero, to be held on March 16 and 17 in Merida, where representatives of the 49 members of ABM will meet with leaders, authorities and supervisors of the industry, from all over the Republic.
The event will be attended by the governing bodies of the financial system, such as the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit (SHCP) and the Bank of Mexico (BM), as a result of the efforts of Governor Mauricio Vila Dosal to generate greater economic flow in tourism, as 1,000 people from different places will participate, who will learn about the cultural and gastronomic attractions of the state.
This convention is the most important in the field at the national level, whose objectives are to strengthen the channels of dialogue between the banking sector and the government and to propose effective solutions to current problems; in this 2023 edition, relevant topics on the future of these services will be discussed, which will set the trend for the following years.
Yucatan has hosted important national and international meetings, such as the XVII World Summit of Nobel Peace Prize Laureates, in 2019, with over 12,400 attendees and 30 winners, or the Smart City Expo Latam Congress, for 3 consecutive years, one of the most relevant on a global scale on innovation, urban design and technological development, in its digital versions in 2020 or face-to-face in 2021 and 2022.
Another was the Tianguis Turístico 2021, which was a complete success and marked the resurgence of this industry in Mexico, with the presence of 43 countries and states. This way, Vila Dosal’s administration reaffirms its commitment to continue working to promote the territory to the world, in order to attract more visitors and economic revenue, which translates into better living conditions for the population.
