Mérida, Yucatán, (January 10, 2022) .- A 60-year-old man died in the arms of his son from complications from Covid-19 when he was transferred in a vehicle to a hospital in Mérida.

It was found that José Cirilo P.P. began to have symptoms such as a mild cough at Christmas, but until the first days of the year they carried out a Covid-19 test and it turned out to be positive.

On Saturday night he began to have breathing problems, so his relatives decided to take him in a private car to a hospital.

Paramedics confirm death

However, on the way his health situation worsened and they decided to stop the car to help the man in his sixties.

The son hugged his dad and started calling him, but at one point the man lost consciousness.

They immediately called 911 for help and a few minutes later SSP paramedics arrived, who determined that José Cirilo was already dead.

The death occurred in the streets of southern Mérida

The police immediately cordoned off the Calle 62nd between 171 and 173 of the Mil Piedras subdivision, located in the south side of Mérida, where the vehicle was stopped.

Then he notified the State Attorney General’s Office to carry out the corresponding procedures.
