Supporters of Rommel Pacheco Marrufo, candidate for mayor of Mérida, and the group of founding leaders and militants of Morena staged a fight at the doors of the Electoral and Citizen Participation Institute (Iepac).
According to data obtained and videos circulating on social networks, the incident took place shortly after the debate of the candidates for mayor of Mérida concluded.

Prior to the exchange of ideas of the candidates, the so-called founding members of Morena in Yucatán held a protest in which they pointed out that Rommel Pacheco does not represent the “true Morenism in Yucatán”, as was read on some banners.
This also caused an intense exchange of words between the Morenista factions, events that were recorded in videos on social networks.
However, both factions met after the debate and tensions between the founding Morena members and the team of candidate Rommel Pacheco Marrufo quickly intensified amid accusations of lack of support from both parties and demonstrations rejecting Pacheco’s candidacy.
That’s how the pushing began and, according to witnesses, the tempers heated up and the brawl began.
In the end, the intervention of the police was required to calm things down and prevent the fight from taking on other dimensions.
