To consolidate and strengthen the local economy, the Municipal Government led by Renán Barrera Concha has authorized the first credits of the Macromer program, amounting to more than two million pesos. This will allow for the creation of more job opportunities and provide support to small and medium-sized enterprises in the Municipality.

The Mayor emphasized that Macromer is a new credit option offered by the Municipal Government, through the Directorate of Economic Development and Tourism, to all beneficiaries of the Micromer program. Its purpose is to facilitate the growth and consolidation of businesses.

“With financing ranging from 101,000 to 350,000 pesos and offering accessible interest rates and conditions at 8%, the municipal government strengthens its support to borrowers who have made timely payments in the Micromer credit and require a higher credit alternative to consolidate their businesses,” he explained.

He added that during the first regular session of the Credit Evaluation and Authorization Committee of the Macromer program, credits ranging from 118,500 to 350,000 pesos each were approved, with a repayment period of 24 months.

The Mayor mentioned that this funding represents half of a revolving fund that is allocated to new applications as beneficiaries repay their loans.

Regarding this, the Director of Economic Development and Tourism, José Luis Martínez Semerena, stated that the companies benefiting from these credits have been operating for a period ranging from 2 to 35 years. They have previously been beneficiaries of the Micromer program.

He indicated that among the sectors represented by the companies benefiting from this credit are businesses dedicated to the sale of tires, clothing, ironworks, grocery stores, stationery, restaurants, aluminum workshops, laundromats, dry cleaners, and an auto parts store.

“These businesses are located in different parts of the city, such as Pensiones II, Ampliación Mulsay, Emiliano Zapata Sur, San Antonio Xluch, Mercedes Barrera, Montes de Amé, Chuburná, Bojórquez, Centro, among others,” he said.

He highlighted that over 90% of the businesses requesting this type of financing are micro and small enterprises (SMEs), which is why Micromer and Macromer are excellent credit options to strengthen and promote the growth of this type of business.

On the other hand, he mentioned that Macromer completes the credit ladder for citizens, offering financing options through various programs provided by the Municipal Government. These programs offer credits ranging from 0% to 8% interest rates, with amounts ranging from one thousand pesos to five million pesos, in order to provide accessible alternatives.

Finally, he encouraged those interested in obtaining more information to visit the Directorate of Economic Development and Tourism (59th Street #452, between 50A and 50, in the Mejorada neighborhood, Centro), call 9 25-15-43 from Monday to Friday, between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., or visit www.merida.gob.mx/micromer or the Facebook page “Desarrollo Económico y Turismo” (Economic Development and Tourism).
