Magic Towns of Quintana Roo recognized during the Tianguis Turistico 2024

Bacalar and Isla Mujeres were recognized within the framework of the Acapulco Tourist Tianguis, by the magazine México Desconocido, after six nominations for the best in the country. While in the case of Tripadvisor, it gave 12 recognitions to the destinations.

In the case of Bacalar, the recognition was as Best Magical Town for a Health and Wellness Getaway, while in the case of Isla Mujeres, the award went to the Magical Town to Live the Best Beachfront Experience.

Edmundo Hiram Gómez Kovoc, director of Tourism of Bacalar, mentioned that receiving this type of recognition reaffirms the work they have done to position it as a destination of Sustainability, safety and Nature, with this they have managed to increase the flow of vacationers.

Edwin Amaro, tourism director of Isla Mujeres, explained that the recognition of Isla Mujeres comes to pay for the distinctions that they have worked for, such as the Blue Flags that joined to receive the distinction and this will lead to continuing working on improvement, but above all everything position the beaches.

In addition to the winners, Isla Mujeres received a distinction from the Xyaat Maya Community Ecotourism collective, from Maya Ka’an, as Best Travel Experience in Indigenous Paradise. While Puerto Morelos obtained the distinction in the category “Best State to challenge to live a surprising adventure.” In the case of the Riviera Maya, it was among the finalists for “Best Adventure to Feel the Energy of Water.”
