What will be on display at the new museums in Yucatán?
The new museums in Yucatán will display important pieces from recent discoveries.
For example, the Puuc Archaeological Museum will exhibit pieces discovered during the work of the Maya Train.
The construction of this museum will provide an enriching experience to understand the importance of the Puuc culture, which stands out for its beautiful architecture, as well as its contribution to the history of Yucatan.
It will be possible to visit it in the archaeological zone of Kabah, located in the southwest of the state.
As for the Dzibilchaltún Site Museum, it will be restructured to show recent research and the assemblages found in the pre-Columbian ruins.
It will be located in the archaeological zone of the same name, 15 kilometers from Merida. It is of great historical relevance and houses the Temple of the Seven Dolls, whose architecture and astronomical alignment are fascinating.
In addition to the restoration of the museum, conservation work is being carried out at other points of interest in Dzibilchaltún.
This cultural precinct will provide a more complete vision of the ancient urban life of the region.
