MÉRIDA, Yucatan, April 9, 2023.- The Federal Government Delegate in Yucatan, Joaquín Díaz Mena, began the delivery of Banco del Bienestar cards to senior citizens at the multi-purpose center in the San José Tecoh neighborhood of Merida as part of the operation to exchange cards for those who still receive the Pension for the Wellbeing of the Elderly through BBVA.

The official informed those present that currently the payment they receive of 4,800 pesos bimonthly, but by January next year, it will go up to 6 thousand pesos.

“For the Government of Mexico, the elderly is priority number one, what we are looking for is for your pension to be untouchable, that is why today we are giving you your Banco del Bienestar cards so that your payment is protected and not a single peso is discounted because you have any pending debt where you were receiving the deposit,” said the Delegate.

Diaz Mena mentioned that the President proposed a constitutional initiative making it a right for all Mexicans to receive their pension when they turn 65 years old, highlighting that the most important thing is that no future government will be able to take it away, guaranteeing the elderly to have the security of this resource.
