The Yucatan State Attorney General’s Office has sentenced a man to 168 years in prison.

MERIDA, YUC. | FGE YUCATAN (January 29, 2022).- The Yucatan State Attorney General’s Office reported that Bryan Alexis Pech Pech was sentenced to 168 years, five months, and 15 days in prison, after being found criminally responsible for the crimes of qualified homicide, attempted aggravated femicide, and qualified homicide. to a tentative degree, events that occurred in Valle de Umán, during the celebration of the new year of 2021.

It was detailed that during the celebrations of the welcome of 2021, in properties located in the Valle de Umán subdivision, when trying to kill his sentimental partner with a knife, the sentenced murdered José Plutarco and Antonio de Jesús, injured also to other people who were in another house, where the woman took refuge to avoid being killed.

According to the prosecution, in the Fourth District Court, the members of the Second Prosecution Court carried out the individualization of the sentences and reparation of the damage, which for the crime of aggravated homicide was 35 years in prison for each one of them. the two deceased.

While for the crime of aggravated attempted femicide, the sentence was 33 years, four months, 15 days, and a fine of 1,124 days, as well as the loss of rights in relation to the victim. For the crime of attempted homicide, the prison sentence imposed was 21 years, eight months, and 15 days for each of the three direct victims, giving a total prison sentence of 168 years, five months, and 15 days. days.

However, the maximum penalty in the state of Yucatan, according to Article 29 of the Penal Code, establishes that the maximum prison sentence is 65 years. For reparation of the damage, the sentenced person was sentenced to pay the amount of one million 737 thousand 600 pesos and for funeral expenses the amount of 5 thousand 212 pesos, the same amount that must be paid to the second victim.
