Emma Navarro is the champion of the Mérida Open AKRON 2025; it is her first 500 title in the WTA
The American did not give up a single set throughout the tournament to win her second title.
The new queen of the Mérida Open AKRON 2025 is Emma Navarro, the tournament’s top seed and number 10 racket in the world, after crushing Emiliana Arango in straight sets by double 6-0.
3,500 spectators enjoyed the grand final of the third edition of the Mérida Open in the first edition of the tournament under the WTA 500 category, which ended with the American crowned champion for the second time in her career and for the first time in a tournament of this caliber.
The new queen of Mérida had just been crowned, and it was a long-awaited revenge since Navarro was unable to play in this same tournament two years ago due to an abdominal injury.
Emma’s promising career finally has its first 500 title, the most important of her career so far, and it was on Mexican soil.
