“We did everything we could to get him released”: Lopez obrador stated during his morning press conference, confirming the death of Mexican national Orión Hernández in Palestine.
López Obrador confirmed on Friday, May 24th, the location of the body of Orión Hernández, a Mexican citizen that was kidnapped by Hamas in Israel in the attack on October 7, 2023.
“We did everything to free him, to save his life, unfortunately, it was not possible,” said the president, who explained that Israeli forces located his body in Gaza.
Orion was murdered at the age of 31 after being kidnapped at the Nova Festival along with his girlfriend Shani Louk, a woman who went viral being transported half-naked and unconscious in a Hamas vehicle and her body has also already been located.
López Obrador also recalled that there are still two compatriots that Hamas is holding hostage on a ship, but “they are alive, they are fine, and arrangements are being made to release them.”
