An accident occurred on the night of Sunday, December 17, after a collision between a private vehicle and a Metrobús unit was recorded in the Narvarte neighborhood of Mexico City, claiming the life of one person.
According to the first reports, the events occurred at 11:50 p.m., on Eje 4 Xola corner with Avenida Universidad, Narvarte neighborhood in the Benito Juárez municipality, when a private vehicle invaded the exclusive lanes for the Metrobús.
The unit corresponding to Line 2 was involved in the spectacular accident after it hit the vehicle, causing an immediate mobilization of security forces and emergency teams.
The authorities confirmed a preliminary balance of one person deceased as a result of the accident.
On social networks, images are circulating showing witnesses approaching to help people who are trapped in the public transport unit and the car that was severely damaged.
Emergency services arrived at the site to evaluate the people traveling aboard the units, who reported the death of one of the occupants of the car. So far, investigations are ongoing to determine the exact causes of the accident between the Metrobús and the car. The competent authorities will determine the legal status of the operator of the transportation system unit.
