Homicide due to excessive self-defense is the crime for which Brayan “N” was linked to the process, who on September 17 took the life of his wife’s stepfather with a knife, in a property in the Benito Juárez neighborhood of Izamal.
As we reported in a separate story, the woman was attacked by her stepfather in a house in that neighborhood. Brayan saw this, and he intervened to defend his wife.
During the struggle he took a knife and stabbed the man in the chest, who fell mortally wounded.
The other family members called the emergency services, and paramedics arrived and took him to a hospital. He died hours later.
The young man was arrested and brought before the First Control Judge at the Kanasín Oral Justice Center, where they linked him to a legal process for homicide for excessive self-defense. The litigation prosecutors were given three months to close the complementary investigation. Brayan “N” will spend the entire process behind bars.
