“I really want to piss off the anti-vaxxers”
FRANCE – Parisien – French President Emmanuel Macron has confirmed in an interview with “Parisien” his primary strategy to combat the coronavirus pandemic: vaccinate, vaccinate, vaccinate and make life miserable for the anti-vaxxers until they change their minds.
More literally, “screw” the lives of those who continue to resist getting doses to protect themselves and others.
“I’m not in favor of “screwing” [emmerder] the French. I complain all day long when the administration does it. But well, the unvaccinated, I’m very much in favor of screwing them. And we’re going to keep doing it until the end. That is the strategy. I am not going to put them in prison, and I will not vaccinate them by force. But we have to tell them: as from January 15, they will no longer be able to go to a restaurant, they will not be able to have a drink or go to the theater, they will not be able to go to the cinema…”, explained the president about the bill which at that time was still being discussed in Parliament so that, as from the middle of the month, the current covid passport, which allows access to closed public places by showing complete vaccination or a negative test, will become a must have.
