Agents of the Ministry of Public Security (SSP) detained four subjects accused of stealing different items from properties located at the Francisco Villa and Encinos subdivisions in Kanasín, Yucatán.
In the first case, the State Police arrested Bryan Noé E. G., 26 years old, Gerardo Emanuel C. C., 20 years old, and Miguel Ángel P. L., 16 years old.
Police officers went to verify a report of house robbery on Calle 23 L of the Francisco Villa subdivision, and caught the suspects in possession of the stolen goods. The detainees entered the house detaching the protector of a side window, when the owner was not at home. The thieves used a moto-taxi for transportation.
While at the Encinos division, also in Kanasin, Jorge Valerio Y. U., aged 31, was arrested by SSP officers. The subject entered property on Calle 23-B, after removing the protector of a rear sliding window. The police detained him in a lot nearby, with the stolen objects.
In other incident, two individuals, in complicity with the wife of one of them planned the theft of cash that was being delivered in a Kanasin address, but their plan was discovered, and they were arrested by elements of the Ministry of Public Security (SSP).
The victim, a 27-year-old woman, said she withdrew $27,827 pesos (arounf $1,400 USD) from the company “Compartamos Banco” and went to her home in downtown Kanasín.
After a while, two individuals knocked on her door and told her that they worked for “Compartamos Banco“, and needed to verify the money that the woman had just withdrawn, because there was a possibility that these were counterfeit bills.
The woman did not want to let them in, but one of the suspects pushed her and seized the money that was on a table.
With the description of the alleged thieves and the vehicle in which they fled, the State Police set up a search operation in coordination with the Municipal Police of Kanasín.
The location and detention of the subjects was achieved hours later: José Luis C. F. 32 years old and Fidencio Abdías D. R. 26, who were arrested and they were found in possesion of a .22 caliber pistol and 17 thousand pesos in cash.
María del Rosario A. C., wife of José Luis C. F., was also arrested for her alleged participation in the events, as she is a member of the group and knew about the withdrawal of the money.
