On Thursday, March 13, a terrible and unforgivable incident occurred in the municipality of Tekax.
An elderly woman suffered abuse after being left without shelter in her yard since 6:00 a.m., allegedly by her son. This is not the first time he has committed this unforgivable abuse against his own mother.
The incident shocked and enraged several social media users, as the news was recorded and covered by a reporter for a local media outlet called La Voz del Pueblo. Paramedics and authorities, as well as the president of the Tekax DIF (National Institute of Family and Family Development), arrived during the investigation and after a call for help.
The same authorities involved in the sad and outrageous case, in an interview with the local media, stated that they already have filed a formal complaint and a case against those responsible, who had signed an agreement to care for their mother and obviously have not complied.
Therefore, authorities took the senior citizen into their custody to care for her properly and pursued legal action against her sons for the illicit acts committed, but the fugitives have not been arrested yet.
