From November 6 to 10, the First World Mariachi Congress will be held in Mexico City, which will take place at Plaza Garibaldi, the Teatro de la Ciudad Esperanza Iris, the Alejo Peralta Auditorium and the Alameda del Sur, as announced by the president of the Chamber of Commerce, Services and Tourism of Mexico City, CANACO, José de Jesús Rodríguez Cárdenas.
The president of CANACO said that it is estimated that the congress will generate an economic impact of at least 136 million pesos, but he affirmed that it could be much greater since it is expected that tourists and visitors who come to the city in November to celebrate the Day of the Dead and Formula One will come to the city, and then they will stay for the first International Mariachi Congress, which has been spread through travel agencies in various parts of the world.
Mariachis from Spain, Portugal, Colombia, and the Dominican Republic, among other countries, will also attend the first World Mariachi Congress in Mexico City. Musicians from these countries will also attend workshops with the most prominent mariachi performers in the country.
