The project will generate more than 500 direct jobs.
The governor of Quintana Roo, Mara Lezama, announced the construction of the new Cancun – Costa Mujeres Tourist Boulevard, a strategic project that will have an investment of more than 2.7 billion pesos and will generate more than 500 direct jobs.
This project, more than 25 kilometers long, is part of the efforts of the state government to promote the tourist and economic development of the region.
The Boulevard will be an important connection between Cancun and Costa Mujeres, starting from Lopez Portillo Avenue and extending to La Angostura. This highway, in addition to strengthening the tourist infrastructure, seeks to improve the transportation conditions for workers in the tourist sector, such as waiters, gardeners, and kitchen assistants, who travel through this area daily.
During the presentation of the project, Mara Lezama highlighted that this work is the result of the joint efforts made with Claudia Sheinbaum, who recently assumed the presidency of Mexico, becoming the first woman to hold this position.
The new Boulevard will not only improve the mobility of tourists but will also dignify the work of employees in the sector. “With this expansion, we are doing social justice by dignifying this important road, which represents the heart of tourism in our state,” she added.
The governor reiterated her commitment to fulfill the promises made during her administration and assured that the Cancún – Costa Mujeres Boulevard project is an example of the joint work between the state and federal governments to transform and improve the quality of life of the inhabitants of Quintana Roo.
