Valladolid will hold its First Queso de Bola Festival on September 28 and 29; and the second one on October 4-6.

On Wednesday, September 18, a sample of what will be offered during the event was presented at the El Sazón restaurant, in a press conference organized by Carlos Guillermo Aguirre Aguilar, president of the Valladolid Restaurant and Gastronomic Services Association (Reserva).

Two associations will each organize their own Queso de Bola festival:

1) Valladolid Restaurant and Gastronomic Services Association (Reserva) will hold their festival from September 28 to 29.

2) The Valladolid Yucatán Restaurant Association (Arvay), will hold a second Queso de Bola Festival from October 4 to 6,

Both festivals will take place in La Candelaria Park. Dalmar Deur Briceño, originally from Chetumal and a franchisee of the festival, recalled that the event began five years ago in the state capital of Quintana Roo, and has expanded to Mérida, Campeche, and Cancún.

This year, he decided to hold it in Valladolid due to its rich gastronomy. This marks the fifth anniversary of the festival and the first in this city, establishing an annual tradition.

23 exhibitors are expected to offer a wide variety of products and dishes. During the press conference, attendees were able to taste chaya empanadas and queso de bola.
