The incident occurred after a passerby surprised an elderly man stealing the roll of grass that had just been installed in the planters on Paseo de Montejo.
On the morning of Sunday, September 1, a subject threatened a person on the sidewalk of Paseo de Montejo after being caught on video stealing the roll of grass that had been placed on this avenue.

The person identified as Ángel Cab, was returning with his pets from a walk that Mérida Boxer Club had organized when he filmed an individual whi was allegedly stealing the aforementioned grass roll.
The thief threatened Angel Cab, then boarded his truck that he had parked up on the sidewalk and tried to run over him and his pets. The incident was also witnessed by several people in the surroundings who tried to call the police units that were patrolling the area.

The alleged thief, upon noticing the police, fled at full speed, so a chase began. It is still unknown if the subject was arrested, or he was able to bribe the police officers to get away.
Following the incident, the victim announced on social media that she had filed a formal complaint against this elderly man.
