-The Yucatan Transportation Agency (ATY) reported that due to the discovery of ancient Maya vestiges, the works were suspended for more than a month to allow for the rescue work, however, the construction of the Va y Ven route to Tekax must continue.

Tekax, Yucatan, (September 18, 2024).- The discovery of archaeological remains in the area where work was being carried out to install the Va y Ven electric unit charging system that will provide the service in the municipality of Tekax, required the intervention of specialists and caused the entry into operation of this service not to occur for September, however, the arrival of the Va y Ven System to this town is a fact.

The Yucatan Transportation Agency (ATY) reported that during the construction of the maneuvering yard and electric charging station for the electric units, the National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH) found ancient archaeological pieces from the Mayan culture, so the work was stopped for more than a month, which postponed the schedule for the implementation of the Va y Ven Transportation System in this town in the south of the state.

During this time, the specialists inspected the area and the archaeological rescue and salvage actions of the pieces found. Once it was guaranteed that the area was free of vestiges, the INAH recently provided the corresponding authorization to continue with the works.

In this sense, the ATY indicated that the Yucatan Highway Infrastructure Institute (INCAY) will soon resume work in the area, guaranteeing that the Va y Ven System route will be a reality in the municipality of Tekax.

It is worth remembering that in Tekax the Va y Ven System will arrive through innovative 100% electric Kinglong units adopted by the Yucatecans as “mini Va y Ven or Vayvencitos”.

The electric units are 6 meters long and have an accessible design with a sliding door in the middle, a low entrance for the elderly and disabled, a ramp and an area for wheelchairs. With the Tekax Route, it is estimated that more than 45 thousand people will be benefitted from this service.
