Over 2,800 students to participate in the civic-military parade on September 16

In the framework of the 214th anniversary of the beginning of the Mexican War of Independence, 2,846 students from 51 schools of different educational levels will participate in the civic-military parade on September 16, reported the Coordinator of Physical Education of the Secretariat of Education of the Government of the State of Yucatan (Segey), María Fernanda Juárez Canul.

She shared that the participants will come from schools at the secondary, high school, and higher levels, both state and federal, public technical and private institutions.

“At the high school level, the Technological Institute of Mérida, the Cbtis, Cetis, and COBAY participate and it is worth highlighting that this year the Bachillerato de Yucatán also participates, which is a program implemented in this six-year term, we also have state high schools, normal schools and five private high schools and the Conalep,” she assured.

She explained that this year there are two categories, secondary level and high school and college level, who participate in three categories: marching band, flag escort, and school contingent.

The coordinator thanked all the schools for their participation and invited the public and all citizens to attend the parade on September 16.

Finally, she recalled that the parade will begin at 8:00 a.m. and is estimated to last an hour and a half; after the school contingents, the National Guard, the 10th Military Zone, the Navy, and the State and Municipal police will parade.
