Mérida is hosting the 49th Index National Convention

From September 18 to 21, 2024, Mérida is hosting the 49th Index National Convention, an event of great relevance for the nearshoring industry in Mexico.

This meeting, which will take place at the International Congress Center, will bring together businessmen, officials, and experts on strategic issues for the relocation and competitiveness of Mexico in the global context.

One of the highlights will be the participation of Joaquín Díaz Mena, elected governor of Yucatán, who will offer a conference on Thursday, September 19, in which he will address the economic and political challenges that the country faces to remain competitive.

In addition, the convention will feature the presence of figures such as Humberto Martínez Cantú, president of the National Council of Index, and Luis Miguel González, general director of El Economista.

Likewise, Marcelo Ebrard Casaubón and Juan Ramón de la Fuente, future heads of Economy and Foreign Relations, respectively.

Altagracia Gómez Sierra, coordinator of Claudia Sheinbaum’s Business Advisory Council, will also be present to discuss the challenges facing the business sector under the new administration.

The program includes panels on the Mexico-United States trade relationship, judicial reform, and energy issues in the manufacturing industry.

The convention will conclude on September 20 with a closing dinner at Hacienda San Diego Cutz.
