During the early morning hours of Sunday, September 15, Jose Angel Davila Bernal was shot dead in this city. He had several lawsuits against him for millions of US dollars.

The now deceased was known to be the owner of a lot of luxury cars in front of the “Plaza The Harbor” where Lamborghinis and Ferraris could be seen on display. It is also reported by the local news website Yucatan al Instante, that some of those “supercars” in the Yucatecan capital could´ve belonged to presumable members of the cartels.

So far, it is known that the altercation occurred outside a bar in Las Americas (as published in The Yucatan Times) and that he received at least one bullet impact at close range that left him seriously injured. His companions took him to a private hospital, but unfortunately, he died minutes later.

The shooting was reported to 911 and an intense police mobilization was carried out to find the aggressors. Strong operations were deployed throughout the city. SSP Authorities said that there are two people arrested for this incident.
