A sunny day with calm seas throughout the day welcomed just over 3,000 people who arrived at the port on Monday, September 16th, during the long weekend of the 214th anniversary of Mexico’s Independence.

According to service providers, such as Eduardo Sánchez and Daniel Medina, the visitors arrived at the port after noon until the parade in Mérida and other places in the state ended, so the whole morning passed with few visitors, starting at 1:00 p.m. the arrival of visitors began.

By three in the afternoon along the traditional boardwalk, according to service providers and municipal police, the presence of just over 3,000 visitors was estimated, many occupied palapas, rented umbrellas, lounge chairs to spend the afternoon where they consumed drinks and snacks.

Many visitors also occupied spaces on the beach, set up tents and umbrellas, and sunbathed, many went into the sea, and others remained lying on the shore where they placed coolers with soft drinks and beverages they brought to spend the day.

The vendors of mangoes, fruit, slushies, and kites did well, said street vendor Ambrosio Carvajal, because of the heat many visitors bought slushies to cool off; it was a day of good sales.

The restaurants on the boardwalk also reported good sales, the influx of diners was until noon, the clients told the waiters that they did not move to this city until the parade ended.

The international boardwalk, the area where Poseidon is located, also received the visit of many visitors, the influx was constant in the western part of the coastal area of ​​the port.
