Accumulation of gas causes an explosion on a property in Umán, Yucatan

An explosion occurred on the night of Saturday, September 21, in a home in the Villas de Umán subdivision.

According to local media TV Azteca, the events occurred when Magdalena D. I. was preparing to prepare dinner. Still, when she turned on her stove, an explosion occurred. The blast collapsed part of the bathroom wall, leaving a large hole.

After recovering from the shock, he called the emergency services at number 911. Agents from the Umán municipal police arrived, along with a state police fire truck.

The firefighters proceeded to cut off the power supply to the home to prevent a short circuit from causing another explosion.

The house was cordoned off while the assessment of the damage was carried out, the police experts determined it could be caused by gas accumulation.

The experts from the SSP’s accident and rescue department will be in charge of evaluating the damage to the property.
