Crime no longer respects the church, as thieves looted the collection boxes of the Church of San Bernardino de Siena in the Sisal neighborhood of Valladolid, Yucatán.

Apparently, the criminals entered the sacred church at night, waited for the priest’s sermon to end, and then hid, and so, in the early morning, when they calculated that there was no one left in the temple, they began to break the collection boxes to steal the alms.

The collection boxes, which were placed in different parts of the church so that the Catholic faithful could give their contribution voluntarily, were opened by the thieves who only took the bills and left the one peso coin so that the weight of the metal would not prevent them from escaping more easily.

After emptying the money boxes, they tried to leave the Catholic temple, but when they realized that the doors were closed, they decided to break one of the side doors that leads to the patio, jumping over the huge wall and fleeing with the money.

Valladolid Catholics condemned how these criminals did not respect the house of God and took the money.

The Municipal Police were unable to detect the subjects as they fled by jumping over the wall. No arrests have been made regarding this matter.
