Yucatan will have an exclusive beach club zone with the construction of 10 projects that will transform the urban image of the port of Santa Clara, municipality of Dzidzantún, as announced yesterday by Mayor Ismael Aguilar Puc, who added that at this time businessmen from a prestigious restaurant chain have also expressed their interest in opening an establishment on the site.

He explained that these projects will be added to the real estate developments under construction in the area, whose trend began in Progreso and has now reached Santa Clara; he also specified that currently, this port has 150 inhabitants, but with the arrival of the aforementioned investments it is already receiving new national and foreign settlers.

“This is something that is happening on the coast of Yucatan, from Progreso to San Felipe, this is happening, however, in Santa Clara we are already beginning to see constructions that are impacting the development of our port and, above all, the generation of jobs, and I can tell you that in six or seven years we will see a different Santa Clara, with better infrastructure, above all with a lot of national and international tourism,” he said.

Santa Clara is located 90 km (55 miles) northeast of Merida (INEGI)

He added that these real estate investments are generating jobs, an economic spillover to the municipal capital of Dzidzantún, since the construction materials establishments, the electrical and carpentry stores are marketing their products, since the people who come to work or live there consume in this population.

He also analyzed that in a short time, it will be necessary to improve the public infrastructure such as the drinking water network, parks, and spaces for people, which will allow the municipal capital of Dzidzantún and the port of Santa Clara to continue growing.
