After more than 30 years without receiving comprehensive maintenance, the Oxkutzcab Supply Center looks renovated and more comfortable today, after the modernization works of this distribution center for farm products that benefits thousands of men and women from the south of the state dedicated to agricultural and citrus activities.

This space was remodeled with an investment of almost 25 million pesos and represents a work of great importance for the inhabitants of Oxkutzcab and the entire south of the state, since it provides food to markets, businesses, restaurants and homes.

The mayor of Oxkutzcab, Juan José Martin Fragoso, assured that this is a historic work that will generate economic development and benefit families, as it will contribute to the economy of their homes.

This remodeling has been needed for several years due to the importance of this distribution center that provides fruits and citrus, not only to Merida, but also to hotels in Cancun and the Riviera Maya.

The mayor of Oxkutzcab said that the facilities of this plant had not received maintenance of this type for more than 30 years, and it is something that will be very useful to the community not only of Oxkutzcab, but of the entire south of the state.

The director of the Institute for Construction and Conservation of Public Works in Yucatan (Incopy), Virgilio Crespo Méndez, explained that the work consisted of the construction of a new metal roof for loading and unloading with platforms and a maneuvering yard, with a capacity of 20 trailers.

6,326 square meters were paved and 18 storm wells were drilled, in addition to maintenance of the structural roof of the eight existing platforms and maintenance of public sanitary services.

This municipality has been characterized as a supply center, from where the products of the Yucatan countryside leave for the markets of Quintana Roo, Riviera Maya, Cancun, Tulum and Mexico, and every day there are more people working there.
