Fumigation tasks against dengue-transmit mosquitoes do not stop in Mérida

The Yucatan Health Secretariat (SSY) reported that this week it will continue with the fumigation actions against the mosquito that transmits dengue, zika, and chikungunya in Merida and municipalities in the interior of the state, as part of the measures promoted by Governor Mauricio Vila Dosal to protect the health of the population.

The director of Prevention and Health Protection of the SSY, Carlos Isaac Hernandez Fuentes, detailed that on Monday, August 19, the brigades will work in Merida in the subdivisions and colonies Atlántida, Las Vegas, Miguel Hidalgo, Paseo Las Fuentes, San Damian, Garcia Gineres, San Damiancito, Turquesa, Jardines Chuburna, Pedregales de Tanlum, Merida, Issste and Pensiones.

He pointed out that on Tuesday, August 20, the brigades will carry out prevention tasks in the Yucatan capital, specifically, Pensiones Norte, Pensiones, Pensiones Escena VII, Amapolita; and Lindavista; On Wednesday the 21st, work will be carried out in Lindavista, Elefante Grande, Paseos de Chenkú 2, Lindavista, San Luis Chuburná, Jardines del Norte Chenkú, El Rosario, San Francisco Chuburná, Vista Alegre, Chuburná Subdivisions, Chuburná de Hidalgo; and El Cedral.

He indicated that on Thursday the 22nd, work will continue in Chuburná 2, Juan B. Sosa, Callejones de Chuburná, Del Prado, Private Streets of Chuburná, San Pablo and San Pedro Uxmal, Magnolias, Terranova; and the Construction Chamber.

Hernández Fuentes indicated that the municipalities in the interior of the state will be fumigated as follows: on Monday the 19th and Tuesday the 20th, the municipal capital of Valladolid, Libre Unión, the Yaxcabá police station on the 20th, Tizimín on the 21st; and Pisté, Tinum municipality on Thursday 22.

The state official urged the population to collaborate by keeping their yards clean and eliminating containers where water can accumulate, complementary measures to prevent mosquito proliferation that transmits dengue, zika, and chikungunya.
