The start date of operations of the Light Railway system in Campeche would be until April 2025 and not in August-September 2024.

The above was highlighted in information from Blas Andrés Núñez, head of the Maya Train Operations Coordinating Center of the Secretariat of National Defense (Sedena), where he gave information regarding the complementary project for the transportation service between the capital city of the State and the “San Francisco Campeche” Station.

At the site he also spoke about the progress of the “Hotel Edzná – Campeche”, located in the municipality of Campeche, about 40-45 minutes from the capital city of San Francisco de Campeche.

In more information about the Campeche Light Train and its construction, it was indicated that it has 10.74 percent progress after its delays due to the provisional suspension by the municipal government of Campeche.

It was also recalled that 283 workers and specialists are currently laboring in this project, since the work will have five trains, 14 stations and a maintenance workshop along its route, from the “San Francisco Campeche” Maya Train Station to the “Pedro Sainz de Baranda” Glorieta ” on the Malecón of the City of San Francisco de Campeche.
