A landslide was recorded on a Tren Maya bridge due to the recent rains. The bridge that leads to the archaeological zone of Oxkintok presented the collapse of a part of its structure, which alerted neighbors who live in the surroundings of this work.

It should be noted that said bridge, which was recently built as part of the Tren Maya works, passes over the tracks and the site of the collapse is located on one side of the rails.

The incident was announced this afternoon by social media users, who live in the Puerta del Sol subdivision of this municipality since it is located next to where the bridge work was carried out.

According to the first reports and images that users shared, it is observed how part of the concrete plates that contain the white material that forms the bridge structure collapsed, along with a section of the metal retaining wall.

The reason for the collapse would be due to the effects of the rains that have fallen, which would have softened the material and part of the structure.

Comments and complaints from people in the area were immediate on social media, making comments about the quality of the work and the materials used in it.

The authorities and those responsible for the work were expected to arrive to verify its status and safety.
