Once again, Yucatán is positioned as the safest entity in the country, obtaining the first place with the lowest incidence of crime with a rate of 73.7 crimes per 100 thousand inhabitants, more than nine times lower than that registered at the national level of 677.6 crimes, a result of the public policies promoted by Governor Mauricio Vila Dosal to maintain the levels of peace and tranquility in the state.

According to the crime incidence report for May, the Executive Secretariat of the National Public Security System (SESNSP) indicated that Yucatán continues to be in first place nationally with the lowest rate of intentional homicides with 0.81 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants. The rate is 10 times lower than the national rate of 8.02 cases.

The SESNSP indicated that Yucatán remains in first place in the entire country among the entities with the lowest rates of vehicle theft with 0.93 cases. The rate is significantly lower than the national rate of 31.57 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants.

Likewise, the entity was placed first in the country with the lowest number of extortion cases per 100 thousand inhabitants nationwide since no case was registered.

Also, Yucatán obtained the second place with the lowest rate of home burglary, registering 1.17 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants, being its historical minimum, and registering a rate below the national average of 14.99 cases.

Likewise, it was placed in the third place with the lowest rate of robbery against pedestrians, registering 0.48 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants, being its historical minimum, and registering a rate below the national average of 20.26 cases. And in fifth place with the lowest rate of femicides with a rate of 0.24 cases per 100 thousand women, below the national rate of 0.49 cases.

This is a result of the Governor’s efforts to continue maintaining the climate of peace and security in Yucatán, through the Yucatán Seguro strategy, where the police were provided with equipment, technology and strong training to go from 2,248 cameras to 6,775 and 100 highway arches to 219, and as part of these efforts the C5i was created and the Police Academy will become a Police University, to which is added the modern Bell 429 helicopter, considered the best equipped of its type in all of Latin America, as well as speed boats.

In addition to this, the conditions of agents have been strengthened with competitive salaries, schemes to access private medical care in case of work accidents and the possibility of obtaining a loan from the Institute of the National Workers’ Housing Fund (Infonavit).

Also, scholarships for university are granted to their children for 100% of registration and tuition, with a bimonthly support of 2,600 pesos if they demonstrate their admission to any private or public institution.

Likewise, Public Security personnel are provided free of charge with the public transportation service of the “Circuito Héroes Ciudadanos” and the “Héroes Ciudadanos” Card, which offers discounts to security forces and health personnel in more than 1,000 establishments. .
