This Saturday, June 8, the Kanasín-Naranjos and Dzibilchaltún-Chablekal-Sac Nicté-La Isla-Periférico del Circuito Comisarías routes will come into operation as part of the Va y Ven Public Transportation System.

The Yucatan Transportation Agency (ATY) reported that this weekend the Kanasín routes and police stations north of Mérida will begin operations, which will provide service through 22 new hybrid units, that are friendly to the environment.

The Kanasín-Naranjos route will be launched with 20 hybrid units, the last one that was missing in this municipality and one of the routes that transports the most people from Kanasín to downtown Mérida.

In support of the economy of Yucatecan families, this route will be free for one week, from Saturday the 8th to Sunday the 16th.

Meanwhile, the Dzibilchaltún-Chablekal-Sac Nicté-La Isla-Periférico route will operate with two hybrid units. It was the last route missing to complete the five that complete the Merida communities Circuit.

The service on this route will be free of charge for the first two weeks, so it will be free until June 23.

For both routes, Yutong hybrid units will be used, which combine a diesel-electric propulsion system, with a capacity for 70 people and 30 seats. These vehicles produce 400% less CO2 emissions per year, which means planting 2,845 trees.
