With 629,394 votes in favor, Joaquín “Huacho” Díaz Mena officially became the elected governor with the highest vote in the history of Yucatan upon receiving the majority and validity certificate from the Electoral Institute and Citizen Participation of Yucatan (IEPAC).
On Sunday morning, Huacho went to the electoral body to receive the certificate that accredits him as the next head of the executive of Yucatan, an event in which he expressed his gratitude for all the support received from the Yucatecan people.
“I will not fail you,” assured Díaz Mena, before thousands of Yucatecans gathered at the Iepac facilities. Huacho promised to form a humanistic government of well-being for all, and to begin writing a new history for Yucatan.
He recalled that during his campaign tours, children and young people expressed their vote of confidence and assured that he would work so that they never lack opportunities to fulfill their dreams.
“Together we will build a better Yucatan for the future of our children. I will govern with humility, for all,” said the Governor-elect, Joaquín Díaz Mena.
