Cancun was positioned as the main entry point for international tourism to Mexico, reporting the arrival of 3.2 million tourists in the first quarter, placing it at the top nationally.

According to the Ministry of Tourism, this meant a growth compared to the previous year of 6.2%, highlighting an increase in travelers from the United States and Canada. With this, it surpassed other airports such as Mexico City, which received a total of 1.4 million passengers, and in third place was Puerto Vallarta, with 886 thousand tourists.

Tourism from the United States is the one that reported the highest number of travelers with 2.1 million visitors, while tourism from Canada reported a significant increase, reaching 811 thousand tourists, who arrived by air to Quintana Roo, and who continue to position it as one of the favorites for foreigners.

According to the Sectur report, the main countries in arrivals of international tourists by air to Mexico in this period were: the United States, Canada, and Colombia, with 6 million 712 thousand tourists, this is 7.7% more compared to the year former.

In Quintana Roo the air connection is with 109 cities, of which 35 are with the United States, 18 with Canada, 16 with Latin America, and 15 with Europe, and the rest are national connections.

To continue increasing the arrival of visitors from the Tourism Promotion Council with Quintana Roo, they are working on campaigns to maintain current markets and attract new ones.

In the case of Latin America, work is being done to attract the Colombian market, which represented a total of 80 thousand tourists, and the Argentine market, which reached an arrival of 76 thousand visitors.

For tourism in Europe, just over 100 thousand visitors were reported from the United Kingdom, 56 thousand from Germany, and just over 46 thousand from Spain.
