13 million pesos invested to rebuild the Peón Conteras Theater

The building is closed to the public due to damage caused by a fire that occurred on November 1, 2022.

For the rehabilitation and equipment work on the José Peón Contreras Theater, due to the damage caused by the fire on November 1, 2022, the State Government invested 13 million 300 thousand pesos in the first phase, in charge of a pair of companies contracted by the Federal government through direct assignation.

The companies are Planisur, S.A de C.V., represented by Jorge Alberto Cetina Arceo; and Barracrel, S.A de C.V., from Guadalajara, Jalisco, México.

Teatro Peón Contreras

Although the building has been closed to the public for 18 months, the government spent 654,928 pesos for the payment of solid waste collection services, as well as surveillance and security, whose contracts were assigned directly from 2023 and expire on December 31, 2024.

According to the information provided through the National Transparency Platform (PNT), the total amount of the works and services carried out in the building classified as an Artistic Monument amounts to 13 million 600 thousand 708 pesos (approximately US$735,000).
