On Sunday, June 2, until the electoral process ends, surveillance and public security will be reinforced throughout the state.
The State Government and the Armed Forces, in coordination with the other police corporations in Yucatan, will reinforce security and surveillance throughout the state territory during the election day on Sunday, June 2, assuring that the Yucatecans can exercise their right to vote in a safe and peaceful environment.
During a work meeting on security matters leading up to this Sunday’s elections, headed by the person in charge of the Governor’s Office, María Fritz Sierra, it was agreed to implement a series of actions to strengthen the security, surveillance and road operation that is applied since October 3, 2023, when the current electoral process began, so that the election day develops completely normally.
As part of these agreements, it was determined to request the Electoral and Citizen Participation Institute (Iepac) of Yucatán to sign a civility pact with political parties that participate in the 2024 Local Electoral Process, to provide greater certainty to citizens. that the elections will be held with unrestricted adherence to the law, and in an environment of governability and social peace.
When speaking, the commander of the state authorities reiterated that military personnel will be alert and will follow up on the entire process.
