A pig took the life of an elderly man and ended up devouring his intestines on a property on 39th Street between 20th and 18th in Mérida’s El Roble Agrícola neighborhood.
Agents of the SSP arrived at the scene upon receiving the unusual report.
Arriving at the property in question, where they interviewed a male subject who said he was the son of the now deceased.
He told them that his father had entered one of the pigsties at around 11 in the morning, located at the back of the property, to clean it.
According to the victim’s son, it appears that the deceased was attacked by a large pig, which knocked him to the ground.
When the man was lying on the floor, the animal began to attack him with bites on his arms and legs. Large pigs have a strong bite.
The subject tried to defend himself, and he must have asked for help, but since no one was home at that time, he was not heard.
The animal continued to bite the victim’s head and neck, until at one point it bit his abdomen, tearing the tissue and exposing his intestines.
The horrifying scene was discovered by the son of the deceased, when he arrived at the home and went to the pigsties to see if his father was there.
He quickly called 9-1-1 emergency services, who sent an ambulance to the scene, but the paramedics could only certify that he no longer had vital signs.
The place was cordoned off by the SSP elements. Those who did not allow entry to the property while awaiting the arrival of the State Attorney General’s Office and the Semefo, who were in charge of collecting evidence and removing the body.
Until now it is not known what the fate of this murderous pig will be.
