With one of the most memorable stages ever recorded, the Mayan Rally Mexico traveled more than 260 kilometers this Thursday to continue enjoying the pleasure of traveling in time, visiting corners of the southeast of the country that leave a mark on whoever visits them.
At eight in the morning, the starting signal was given and the order of the cars already began to show signs of how the issue of timing and results of the previous dates has been accommodated.
Upon arrival in Espita, the participants were able to enjoy the activities that the town had prepared as well as interesting places to visit.
In the Main Park, the folkloric ballet of the Espita City Council was presented as well as the folkloric ballet “Espita de Mis Amores” and there was a performance by the youth orchestra of the House of Culture.
Among the places that the members of the caravan of the rolling museum were able to see were the San José Church, the “Melchor Ocampo” Municipal Market, the ESPITA Letters, the Monument to the 15 of Espita and the House of Culture, highlighting that all These architectural buildings have plaques that contain a QR code to scan and obtain detailed information about each one.
After a few kilometers of road, the rolling museum arrived at Las Coloradas, a fishing town, with a little more than 1,600 inhabitants who are mostly dedicated to the salt industry, as this site is also recognized for being a set of pools that make up an important salt processing plant.
The next stop of the day was the wonderful town of San Felipe, where, as had been the case in previous editions, they were already waiting for the caravan of classic cars and what better way to receive the rolling museum than showing off to everyone the beauty of its streets, the color of their homes and end up making all the participants fall in love with a spectacular reception and meal at the Vaselina Restaurant that was outstanding with all the gastronomic variety highlighting the great work of this fishing town.
To finish the day’s tour, the caravan headed back to the road to return to the beautiful and historic Valladolid to finish the fourth stage.
Valladolid has an exceptional colonial flavor. Walking through its streets, with its brightly painted mansions, the neighborhoods with their churches and of course the magnificent convent of San Bernardino de Siena, a palpable trace of the Franciscan presence throughout the peninsula, is like returning to the past.
ABOUT THE MAYA MEXICO RALLY
The Rally Maya, also known among car lovers as the “museum on wheels”, is intended to be promoted as a unique opportunity to learn about the natural, cultural, gastronomic and archaeological wealth of the Mayan world. During the competition, more than 100 crews from Mexico, Europe, Central America and South America carry out transits and regularities, testing the ability of the pilot and co-pilot to precisely maintain the pre-established speeds in a given time.
For this competition, cars must be more than 40 years old and have 90 percent originality to be able to participate within one of the three age categories: vehicles manufactured before 1949 in category “A”, category “ B” for cars from 1950 to 1969 and category “C” for cars from 1970 to 1983.
